Yayy!

Thanks to another legacy blogger, Nessva, I’ve figured out how to exclude the chapters for generation one on the sidebar. It looks a lot neater now.

Thank you, Nessva!

Thank you guys for your feedback and your support. I have an extended weekend, so I’m hoping to get a chance to play.

  1. Hey, Sam :) Thanks for your recent comment on my blog!
I’m just wondering if you, or even Nessva, could possibly explain to me how you managed to exclude the chapters you didn’t want from the main page thingy to make it look neater?
My msn is : Dark_angel3100@hotmail.com if it’s easier to explain things on there :)
    Thanks in advance :3

    • Okay, I’m going to try to explain here because you don’t seem to be online right now. You need to go to appearance and then your widgets, and find the “Pages” widget on the side. You need to click the arrow to the right in the corner to extend it, and there should be a space where you can type that says “exclude” above it. I don’t know if there’s an easier way, but what I had to do was open a separate tab and go to the “pages” tab on the right of your screen, like where you’d go to add a new page. You need to open the page you want to exclude, and you’ll get a URL at the top of it when you go to view it. The end of it will say, “wp-admin/page.php?action=edit&post=__” and there will be a number after the second equal sign. That’s the number you’re going to place in the box under “exclude” on your other tab. Did I explain that right? xD

      • Ohh, thanks for the explanation :)

Unfortunately I don’t think this method works for me because I’ve been publishing my Chapters up as Posts, rather than pages. I’m happy to have my chapters along the side bar, but I don’t want the latest chapter being the first thing people see when they visit my blog :3

Oh. I just had a look on Nessva’s blog and saw the explanation she gave you, so going to see if that will work xD

      • Ah, okay. I’m sorry.

  2. You’re welcome, Sam! Glad I could help :)
